Mount Zion’s Annual BBQ Chicken Dinner will be held on
Friday, September 10, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eat-in or
take-out plates are available, and large take-out orders can be
placed at 772-8415 and will be ready to pick-up when you arrive.
Plates include ½ chicken, boiled potatoes, green beans, roll,
dessert, and a drink. Enjoy the food and fellowship for just $7
for adults, $4 for children 4-12, and free for kids 3 & under.
Discover My
Mission Class, which teaches you how to share your faith, will
be held on Wednesday, September 22, at 6:30 p.m. This class is
for those who have attended the first three discover classes.
Please contact the church office to sign up by Monday, September
20.
There will be a
benefit concert with the world-famous pianist, guitarist
and songwriter, John Nilsen, and guitarist and WRAL TV anchor,
Bill Leslie, in Mount Zion’s Sanctuary on Thursday, September
23, at 7 p.m. The event is free, but donations will be accepted
and will all be given the Harbor, Inc., a private, non-profit,
community agency providing help, hope & safety to victims of
domestic violence and sexual assault in Johnston County.
Family Ministries Outdoor Movie Night
will be held on Saturday, September 25, at 7 p.m. under the
Lord’s Shelter. The featured movie will be “Letters to God” and
popcorn and drinks will be provided. There is no charge and
everyone is welcome. Bring your lawn chair or blanket.
Mount Zion’s Homecoming will be held
on September 26 at the 11 a.m. service followed by a covered
dish lunch. If there is someone who has attended Mount Zion and
would enjoy coming to the Homecoming Service but does not
receive our newsletter, please call or email the church office
with their name and address and we will send them a special
invitation. We will have a traditional worship service at 8:30 a.m.
Mount
Zion’s 6th Annual Christmas Bazaar is on Saturday,
November 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
Vendor tables are available and forms are located on the Family
Ministries bulletin board in the fellowship hall.
You are invited to a “Baby Diaper Shower”
and covered dish supper for Shane, Susan, Samantha and “new baby
Sophie Abigail” Setzer on Saturday, September 11, at 5:30 p.m.
in the fellowship hall. Please bring your family and a dish to
share.
All men are invited to United Methodist Men on Sunday, September 12, at 7 a.m. in
the Fellowship Hall. Come for fellowship, breakfast, prayer &
devotions. UMM now meets each month on the second Sunday.
Church yard
clean-up for Homecoming Sunday
will be held Saturday, September 18, at 8 a.m. Everyone’s help
is needed!
The Senior Citizen’s Brunch
will be held on Saturday, September 18, at 9 a.m. in the
Fellowship Hall, hosted by the Stevens/Lane Circle. All seniors
are invited. If you would like to help with the brunch or
need a ride, please call the church office.
